Magazine Name Ideas and Feedback
On this mind map are the possible names that i have come up with for my magazine. The genre of my magazine is Indie Rock, however most of these names are more generic and may not be directed to indie rock. This can be useful, but also may be a disadvantage.
If people are browsing magazines, they may pick it up to see what genre it is, rather than just ignore it because they know the genre. This will mean more people will see the magazine, and also possibly buy it.
However, it may be ignored by people who are looking for indie rock magazines, as the name is a big part of the magazine.
I then asked my classmates to choose a name for my magazine. I asked this particular group of people as they are the ages in which i am targeting my magazine. Overall, my classmates decided to choose IMI (Indie Music Insider). They chose this as it was simplistic, but had obvious musicality. They advised me to write what IMI stood for underneath, to clarify with the reader.
