House Style - MOJO

House style is where a magazine uses similar layout and structure, including the masthead font, colours, logo and its placement, as well as placement of images and the bar code. House style is used so that the reader can judge whether or not it is the type of magazine that they want because they are familiar with the layout and font types. MOJO has a clear house style each issue. The masthead is mainly black and white, and has a 3D effect added to it. This 3D effect is continued through the contents page too, clearly identifying what page they are on. Like the other magazines i have analysed, the masthead spans the width of the page, and is placed in the skyline. The slogan for the magazine is written across the last three letters of the masthead, and has a font almost like it has been handwritten. Along with the other 2 magazines, the main image also spreads across the whole page, and is in front of the masthead. There are a lot more cover lines on this magazine, and are in different size fonts to show the importance of them.

In this issue of MOJO, the main colours are black, red and white. These colours are constantly used throughout the magazine, to show its formality, as well as the professionalism and simplicity of the magazine.
